Professional - Experienced - Personal
Everyone experiences difficult periods in life. Whether you need ongoing support or space to navigate a sudden life transition, I offer confidential one-to-one counselling, at your pace.
I'm Michelle. The face behind Incus Counselling. I'm a Counsellor, based on the Humanistic Model. This means I believe everyone has the potential to develop themselves given the right conditions, and as your counsellor, I am not the expert on your life- you are.
I'm also a nurse, with over 20 years experience.
I've spent years working with real people, where life isn't straightforward.

"Before starting counselling sessions with Michelle I really wasn’t sure what to expect or how useful I would find the process. Now, after 12 sessions together, I would definitely recommend giving it a go. Michelle created a safe space where I felt comfortable to be completely open and honest, without any fear of being judged. It was such a valuable experience and I learnt a lot about myself. I now feel I have coping mechanisms to help me to deal with every day life and to protect myself from getting to the point of overwhelm so easily. I’m glad I took the leap of faith."

What happens next?
Starting therapy can feel daunting. That's why I offer a free initial phone call. It gives you the opportunity to tell me a little bit about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether you think I might be the right counsellor for you.
There's no pressure to continue.
If you do decide you'd like to work with me, we'll arrange your first counselling session and take things from there.
You don't need to know exactly what you need before you contact me.
You just need to take the first step.
